XXVII. Karlstein wine festival in 2025 - news, or what can you look forward to?

When

In 2025, we'll see you on Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 September, starting at 10am each time. Traditionally, we will meet for the XXVII time at Karlštejn city on the last weekend in September.

Or, as always, when the vines in the vineyards of Karlštejn ripen and their leaves turn the hues of autumn, the metric tons of grapes are picked and crushed, which are transformed in tanks into a nobler future state through the stage of excellent vine. This is when our Karlstein vintage takes place, with the participation of the most noble, just read on.

Where

The whole of Karlštejn will be in action again. The right bank meadow by the Berounka River, next to the bridge, will host knight tournaments. The left-bank pedestrian zone through the town towards the castle, the square and the surrounding plazas with vendors selling not only wine and bourbon from local vineyards and imported, duly cleared. And the castle courtyard itself will be teeming with jugglers, swordsmen, dancers and singers.

The main event

You can look forward to two solemn, ceremonial afternoon processions accompanying the Roman Emperor and King of Bohemia Charles IV, his consort, church dignitaries, courtiers and knights. The first is on Saturday, the second on Sunday. It always starts at around 1:30 pm from the Wine Research Station, then wanders through the pedestrian zone to the castle courtyard. An early evening mystery show

Don't miss the very mysterious lantern parade, which takes place only on Saturday evening. It goes in the opposite direction, from the lower castle gate down to the square below the castle. There it culminates in a fire show, right in front of the Emperor and his consort. The route of this evening procession is 860 m long and the descent is 62 m, map here.

We have only single common price for visitors 15 y.o. and above. CASH ONLY in Czech crown (only CZK/Kč is accepted)!!!

• Sunday: 250,- CZK

Ticket rules for the XXVII edition in 2025 - children until 15 y.o. (14.99) and visitors dredssed itno medival costumes are with free entry, without charging, the same as previouse events.
